Course Description:
This is the first in a series of three courses in 3D
computer animation. This course introduces students to the artistic
and technical elements associated with creating three-dimensional computer
generated imagery. Concepts include
shape, composition, lighting, shading, and the processes involved in producing
3D computer animation.
Fundamentals are taught using the software Maya from Autodesk, the same
commercial software system(s) used
by professionals in the industry. This course is meant to provide the
student with direct hands-on experience and
as such will be organized and taught within a studio environment.
Parkland College is an authorized Maya academic provider and uses supplied
course materials.
