How to enroll as a student

Getting Started

The Computer Basics/Microsoft Office courses and the Internet Basics/Web Design courses have different policies and procedures to follow.

Computer Basics/Microsoft Office courses

For enrollment after the open registration period ends, campus students should see an instructor in D228 to receive an Authorization to Enroll Form.

Online students may use the procedures found at the Parkland Connection

Students enrolled in the open classroom, on campus sections should attend one of the orientation sessions scheduled at the start of the fall and spring semesters. See the Class Schedule booklet for times and dates. Orientations are held in D228.

Students must follow policies and procedures given in the syllabus for completing coursework.

Internet Basics/Web Design Software courses

For enrollment after the open registration period ends, students should contact Ruthann Whobrey or Eric Springer at espringer@parkland.edu to receive authorization to enroll.

Many of the Web CTC courses have prerequisites. Students should have some computer experience before enrolling in these courses.

Web CTC courses have strict deadlines for submitting course projects. Students must start coursework as soon as they are registered for the course. Information about courses can be found by using the Parkland Connection or by visiting the class web page given as an announcement for the course in the student's Angel account.

Students are responsible for finding course information and getting started. Call or email the instructor listed for the course if you are having difficulty finding the course material.
